Duke University will host a summer seminar on restorative reproductive medicine (RRM), bioethics, and theology from June 28 to July 1, 2026. The seminar will explore the ethical and medical dimensions of restorative and assisted reproductive approaches, including the history, philosophy, and future potential of RRM.
This seminar is open to current medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals, as well as to professionals engaged with bioethics or healthcare policy.
Objectives & Experience
The purpose of this three-day seminar is to explore both the ethical and medical aspects of restorative and assisted medical approaches, including the history of and potential for RRM. Students will encounter theological, epidemiologic, clinical, and pastoral experts to spur us toward a robust dialogue about reproductive medicine in its personal and social context in the twenty-first century and, ultimately, how to improve the health of couples, children, and families while also promoting the common good of society as a whole, especially those who are socio-economically disadvantaged.
