Joseph B. Stanford, MD, MSPH

Director of Research Protocols, IIRRM Board of Trustees.

Dr. Stanford is a board-certified family medicine physician at the University of Utah where he serves as a professor of Family and Preventive Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics.  He is director of research at the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine and editor-in-chief at the Journal of Restorative Reproductive Medicine, as well as principal investigator for the international STORRM research registry.

Dr. Stanford completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Minnesota State University, Mankato, his medical degree at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a residency in family medicine and fellowship in public health at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His research in reproductive epidemiology, fertility, and child health has been funded by the United States National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the United States Office of Family Planning. He is a past member of the FDA Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs. He and his wife, Kathleen, have recently been honored at the University of Utah School of Medicine with the establishment of a new presidential chair in restorative reproductive medicine named after them.
