This study is part of the "Nutritional Intervention Preconception and During Pregnancy to Maintain Healthy Glucose Metabolism and Offspring Health" (NiPPeR) trial - https://www.nipperstudy.com/. Researchers had previously published other findings suggesting the intervention may reduce preterm birth but did not reduce gestational glycemia (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33782086/).

 

Dr Gisela Valer is the first OB/GYN to start a Naprotechnology/Restorative Reproductive Medical Practice in Peru, starting in 2019.  Her work experience in the assisted reproduction field and as a medical advisor for several pharmaceutical companies led her to look for more ethical and effective ways to serve her patients, led her to look for more ethical and effective ways to serve her patients. Ultimately, she found the answer in FABMs and the “person-centered” approach of fertility awareness. Dr. Gisela Valer studied Medicine and her OB/GYN specialty at Federico Villarreal University in Lima, Peru. She also has completed a Master’s in Healthcare Management, Gynecologic Laparoscopy, and Reproductive Medicine in Chile and Argentina.
