June Grand Rounds: Reproductive Health Mindset During a Pandemic

Presented by: Amie Holmes, MD, OBGYN

What impact has, or could COVID-19 have, on your practice and patients?  What adjustments have you made in your practice and how has your life been impacted?

Learning Objectives:

1. Review current medical knowledge regarding the effects of COVID-19 on the reproductive system (including genitourinary symptoms, pregnancy outcome by gestational age at transmission and maternal-fetal transmission rates).

2. Discuss fertility patient mental health, adjustments in intention to conceive and menstrual cycle variation (largely related to stress) during the pandemic.

3. Explore the mental health, work and life adjustments of fertility medical professionals during the pandemic.

4. Review results from a survey of RRM professionals on how the pandemic has affected their practice and patients.

Grand rounds is held monthly for health care professionals as part of RRM's Educational Webinar Series. Presentations aim to improve the clinician's foundational knowledge as well as highlight and encourage research and new methods in the area of Restorative Reproductive Medicine. These sessions should enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of healthcare delivery, and in turn lead to improved patient outcomes.
