Couples, Doctors and Teacher-Practitioners explain a new method of family planning using the Creighton Model FertilityCare System - by the FertilityCare Centres of Europe (FCCE)
The FertilityCare system is as reliable as any method of contraception for couples who wish to avoid pregnancy. This has been published in a scientific peer-reviewed journal – The Journal of Reproductive Medicine, in 1998. In this study over 1,800 couples used the system for over 17,000 cycles in 5 different centres throughout the USA. The pregnancy rate at 12 months of use showed a method effectiveness rate of 99.5% and a use effectiveness rate of 96.4% which is comparable and superior to many studies of the hormonal contraceptive pill – with none of the risks.
Those who use FertilityCare frequently discover an enhanced ability to talk about sex as a couple. Not only do they make joint decisions about whether to express their love through intercourse, but they regulary talk about their intentions to achieve or avoid conception and all the issues that go with that. Husbands become more aware of the different phases of their combined fertility cycle and how to respond to their wife in a way that is affirming of her. Romance and spontaneity is enhanced in the relationship as the couple discover new ways of expressing love and affection during the days of abstinence each cycle. This aspect is challenging at times, but ultimately leads to growth and strenghtens the relationship. In the USA it has been observed that the divorce rate in couples who use FertilityCare is far less than what would be expected in the general population. We believe this is due to the enhanced communication couples experience as a result of using this method.
Early detection and treatment of subfertility
What started out as a system of family planning has developed into a new method of gynaecologic health assessment. FertilityCare can now reliably predict which couples are at increased risk of miscarriage or infertility even before these problems are experienced. We have come to recognise abnormal biomarkers from the fertility chart which indicate if you have a higher probability of infertility or miscarriage compared to normal. These markers can be identified by your teacher-practitioner who will recommend a medical evaluation if your chart appears abnormal. FertilityCare can identify and treat the abnormal biomarkers in a pre-emptive fashion to dramatically reduce the risk of infertility and miscarriage in the first place. This is a tremendous advance in gynaecology which generally does not consider infertility a problem until you have been trying to conceive for at least one year, and miscarriage is not considered a problem until you have had three!
FertilityCare is the healthy choice in family planning. It respects your body’s ecosystem. We view fertility as a normal aspect of health that men and women can understand and live in harmony with. Fertility in the modern medical world is frequently seen as some kind of “disease process” that needs to be treated with synthetic steroid medications using hormonal contraceptives. Recent studies from the Mayo Clinic USA, have proven there is a link between hormonal contraceptive use and subsequent increased risk of developing breast cancer. In past studies the majority of women used hormonal contraceptives after they had given birth to their first child. This trend has now changed and the majority of women take contraceptives for many years before having their first child. This group are believed to be the greatest risk group for developing breast cancer. 1see: https://www.polycarp.org/ 2
